Please take some time to find out something about our traditional house. The picture above from 1903 shows the restaurant Kreuz, a traditional house in Riffian, a well-known place of pilgrimage.
The restaurant used to cater pilgrims and was a rest stop for merchants, couriers and waggoners, who would also change horses here. Moreover, being on the shortest and quickest road to Innsbruck (which used to be the Tyrolean capital) this house achieved a huge commercial and economic importance.
In the last century, the house’s owners changed several times. In 1923 it was rented by the Weger family who bought it in 1931. Several times structural alteration works and expansions were conducted at the house. Finally, it was converted into a hotel and eventually this unique atmosphere was created.
